The GMO (Greater Metro Open) is an annual charity golf outing for the friends and customers of Metro Cigars. Each year we select a charity or two to support during the outing. Our choice for 2010 was Breast Cancer Research with an added money hole to raise funds for CSAW (Cigar Store Alliance of Wisconsin). This is a tremendous event with incredible manufacturer support and participation.
Through donations like ours the fatality rate for breast cancer has been decreased due to the added information and equipment doctors have today.
CSAW is an organization formed by several cigar shops in Southeastern Wisconsin. We have banned together to fight for your rights to enjoy a cigar in your favorite cigar store at a reasonable price. We have been successful at maintaining the OTP (cigar tax) cap of $0.50 for the last 2 years and we were grandfathered in to allow cigar, pipe and hookah smoking within our establishments.
